Business Development Officer

Position: Business Development Officer

secure funding from various Donors and International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) to create a lasting impact
on communities in need.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Business Development Officer to join our team in Juba, South Sudan who will be reporting to the Country Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing funding opportunities, building relationships with stakeholders and contributing to the growth and sustainability of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and reports for potential clients and partners.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local NGOs, Donors, INGOs, and other key stakeholders.
  • Attend and represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Monitor industry trends and developments to identify new business opportunities.
  • Conduct market analysis to understand the competitive landscape and identify potential areas for growth.
  • Develop and maintain a database of potential clients, partners, and funding sources.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns that support business
    development efforts.
  • Track and report on business development activities, including progress toward goals and key performance
    indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide training and support to staff on business development best practices and techniques.
  • Negotiate and close deals with potential clients and partners.
  • Foster and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects and services to clients.
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall growth and development of the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations,
  • Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development, fundraising, or a related area.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian and development sector in South Sudan is a plus.

Technical Assistant, Juba South Sudan

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Technical Assistant to join our team in Juba, South Sudan and will be reporting to the country Manager. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive support to the technical team, ensuring the smooth execution of projects and technical tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and formatting of technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Coordinate and manage technical team meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on
    action items.
  • Maintain and organize project files and documentation, ensuring easy accessibility for the technical team.
  • Assist with the collection and analysis of data for technical projects.
  • Support the technical team in conducting research and compiling relevant information.
  • Coordinate logistics for field visits and technical team travel, including booking accommodations and transportation.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of project deliverables and reports to clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage technical team calendars and scheduling, ensuring alignment with project timelines and deadlines.
  • Provide administrative support in the development and implementation of technical training sessions and workshops.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration on technical projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial reports for technical projects.
  • Track and report on the progress of technical projects, highlighting any issues or delays to the team.
  • Handle other administrative tasks as required to support the technical team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a filing system for easy retrieval of documents.
  • Manage and update the company’s technical documentation and databases.
  • Assist in the design and preparation of technical materials and visual aids.
  • Support the technical team with software and tools used for project management and data analysis.
  • Coordinate the procurement of technical equipment and supplies.
  • Assist in quality control and assurance processes for technical outputs.
  • Provide technical support during client meetings and presentations.
  • Help troubleshoot technical issues and liaise with IT support when necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans and timelines.
  • Monitor and evaluate project outcomes and report findings to the technical team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Project Management, International relations, Environmental Science, or
    a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in a technical support role, ideally within a consulting firm or similar environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
